We're committed to improving surgical outcomes by ensuring every patient receives comprehensive, evidence-based preoperative education.

To transform the perioperative experience through online, interactive, surgeon-guided education that empowers patients, improves outcomes, and reduces the burden on clinical teams.

In 2014, while running a busy orthopedic practice, I noticed the same questions coming up before nearly every surgery: How do I prepare? What happens during surgery? What should I expect afterward?
We relied on handouts, videos, and hospital classes, yet the questions kept coming—through phone calls, emails, portal messages, and clinic visits. My staff and I spent countless hours answering them one patient at a time. Meanwhile, patients searched online, where generic or conflicting information often created more confusion and anxiety.
Eventually, the real problem came into focus: We were treating patient preparation as a passive obligation rather than a meaningful opportunity.
That realization became OrthoSkool.
We believe patient education should be a structured, accessible, evidence-based part of the surgical pathway. It should be intentionally designed around the entire surgical experience—from patient confidence and recovery to healthcare utilization and care-team workload. It should also reflect each surgeon’s protocols and each organization’s workflows while addressing what patients actually want to know. When patients are genuinely prepared for surgery, everyone benefits—the patient, the care team, and the organization.
